The entire Basic Skills program presented by Marshalls, from beginning to more advanced, is designed to be the best beginning ice skating program. For more general information about the USFSA Basic Skills program, visit the USFSA Basic Skills web site.

The FSC of Memphis offers Basic Skills classes for beginner skaters of all ages during the Sunday ice sessions at the DeSoto Civic Center.

The Basic Eights Class
The Basic Skills are the fundamentals of the sport. These eight levels of the program introduce the fundamental moves, forward skating, backward skating, stops, crossovers and turns. Upon completion of the Basic 1-8 levels, skaters will have the basic knowledge of the sport enabling them to advance to the more specialized areas of skating such as free skating, dance, pairs, and synchronized. Adult 1-4 Class
The adult curriculum is designed for the beginner adult skater. It is designed to promote physical fitness, improve balance and coordination while learning proper skating techniques.
