SPRING/SUMMER OPTIONS FOR FIGURE SKATERS
It's true that we do NOT have ice in the Mid-South region between April - September. Click here for more information. However, there are some regional training options for dedicated figure skaters:

Arkansas Skatium (Little Rock, AR, about 2.25 hour drive)
Check their web site and/or contact them via email to confirm times and dates before making travel plans! There are several public skates and freestyles available for skaters. Freestyles are for skaters ABOVE Basic 8 there or in a private lesson with a coach! If you are below Basic 8, try their public skate times (outside of lessons).

We have a special hotel rate set up with the Holiday Inn on Talley Road in West Little Rock (near the rink) for $99 per night for a 2 queen bed with sofa sleeper or $89 for a king bed suite with sofa sleeper. Call the hotel directly at 501-224-2600 and reference the Figure Skating Club of Memphis room rate.

Check with your FSCM private lesson coach to see if they currently or in the future will travel to Little Rock for private lessons or contract with a coach at Arkansas Skatium. Some FSCM coaches do travel regularly or occasionally. If you currently have a FSCM coach for private lessons, you need to contact your FSCM coach FIRST regarding lessons from any other coach either here in Memphis or in Little Rock or elsewhere per PSA and Club guidelines.
Other Regional Rinks
There are other rinks regionally that offer freestyles and public skating in Decatur, AL, Nashville, TN, and Franklin, TN. All of them are about 3 hours driving distance from Memphis. Click here for information.
Summer Skating Camps
Many rinks and/or clubs offer figure skating camps throughout the summer months. If you are traveling this summer, check with local rinks for programs!
Off Ice Conditioning
If you are unable to travel regionally, it never hurts to do some off ice conditioning! Ballet, yoga, and jumproping can help with your on-ice skills! Check our link on off ice options.
